A cardiorespiratory physiotherapy clinic dedicated to the assessment, treatment and management of adults and children with lung and cardiac conditions.

Cardiorespiratory physiotherapy focuses on chronic conditions such as bronchiectasis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (i.e. chronic bronchitis, emphysema, asthma), cystic fibrosis, lung cancer and pulmonary fibrosis, neuromuscular disease, lymphoedema and burns.

Personal Overview

Sean is the Principal Physiotherapist and owner of 1nspire Physiotherapy and has >25 years of combined clinical, teaching and research experience. He was the former Head of Physiotherapy and Senior Lecturer in Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy at CQUniversity Australia between July 2019 – Nov 2024. Prior to joining CQUniversity, he was Programme Director for Rehabilitation and Exercise Science and a Lecturer in Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy at Keele University (UK). He worked for >7-years as a Senior Paediatric Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapist at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust in London (UK). Sean holds a BSc Physiotherapy (Hons) from Trinity College Dublin and an MSc Advanced Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy from University College London (UCL). He completed his PhD a at UCL, where his doctoral work investigated the longitudinal effects of supervised exercise on lung function, exercise capacity and quality of life in children with cystic fibrosis. He has published his research in high impact academic journal and presented his research at key national and international  respiratory and physiotherapy focussed conferences. Sean was a previous President of the Council of Physiotherapy Deans Australia and New Zealand and Chair of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency Education Reference Committee. His special interest areas are cardiac and respiratory diseases, lung function, exercise, paediatrics, physiotherapy education, technology in health, leadership and its challenges, and health economics.
